Editorial policy

Trust is the whole product. This policy explains how we create and maintain our content.

Research and sourcing

We rely on primary sources — official regulators, banks, tax authorities, and product documentation — and link to them where relevant. We do not publish claims we cannot verify.

Accuracy and review

Each guide is reviewed for factual accuracy, clarity, and completeness before it goes live. Calculators are checked against known formulas and worked examples.

Updates

Money rules and rates change. We show a publish date and an "updated" date on every guide and revise pages when the underlying facts change.

Corrections

Spotted an error? Email us via the contact page with the URL and detail. We correct verified errors promptly and note significant changes.

Independence and advertising

KnowWiser is supported by advertising. Ads are clearly labeled and never influence our research, recommendations, or tool results. Our content is not personalized financial advice.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on KnowWiser — for example, to open a demat account, apply for a credit card, compare loans, or buy a product on Amazon — are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up or make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every affiliate link is labeled "Affiliate link" where it appears, and carries rel="sponsored" so search engines know it's a paid relationship.

Affiliate relationships never determine which products we cover or how we rank them. We recommend a product because we believe it's genuinely useful for the reader, and we include the same practical comparison whether or not an affiliate link is attached. Fees, rates, and terms shown in comparison tables come from public sources and are checked periodically — always confirm current terms on the provider's own site before you sign up.

How our content is produced

Every guide starts with a question readers are actually asking, is researched against primary sources, and is written and edited by our team. We use research and drafting software the way any modern newsroom does, and nothing goes live until an editor has checked every figure and source. We are accountable for everything we publish; see "Corrections" above.
